What we collect

Only enough to see how the Pokédex is used:

Someday this page may show aggregate charts.

Privacy policy — the plain-English version

Who we are

The Pokédex for Slack is a free, fan-made app run by Captured Momentum (Steve Shearer). Anything privacy-related: steve@capturedmomentum.com.

What we collect, and why

When a workspace installs the app, Slack sends us the workspace's name, domain, icon, email domain, the installing member's ID, and the credentials the app needs to post its replies — that's how the app works at all. When someone runs a lookup, we record the command's text, its language, and the requesting member's Slack ID, so we can see how the Pokédex is used and fix what misses. Trivia rounds record each player's guesses and running score by Slack user ID — that's the scoreboard. That is the complete list.

What we never collect

No message content beyond the command itself. No channel history, no files, no profile details beyond the IDs above. The web demo on this page has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking — everything it shows travels in the page's own URL.

Sharing

We don't sell or share your data with anyone. The app runs on Amazon Web Services, which hosts the data on our behalf like any web host does.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while the app is installed. Uninstalling stops all collection immediately; email us and we'll delete your workspace's stored data promptly.

The Pokémon data

Everything about the Pokémon themselves comes from the open-source PokéAPI project — none of it is about you.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears right here. This is a general-audience app and isn't directed at children under 13.
